| Night has long since fallen on the Tougakushi shrine. Outside cherry blossom petals float lazily in the wind, but suddenly change direction and circle towards the doors of the shrine itself. The caretaker, Monou Kyougo has sensed his coming. From the shadows beyond the candlelight Kamui demands that Kyougo hand over the sword. |
| Be cause his beloved wife died for it, Kyougo answers that he will only release the sword to Kamui if Kamui is ready for it. After dodging Kyougo's attacks with the sword, Kamui seizes his hand and demands to know if Kyougo wants to die so badly. |
| Kyougo refuses to answer. Kamui reaches forward to touch his face and everything goes black. |
| At school the next morning Monou Kotori is called upon to read before the class. As she finishes reading she glances towards the window where a lone figure walks. Her surprise is evident at the boy's face. He smiles warmly as he meets her gaze. |
